Collection: Jerkbaits

Jerkbaits are mostly made of plastic lures, which are modeled on wobblers and narrow towards the back and are often used for pike fishing.

In contrast to wobblers, however, jerkbaits do not have a diving lip. Therefore they do not show the wobble and roll typical of wobblers when being retrieved.

A swimming behavior that encourages predatory fish must therefore be brought about by the angler himself: by jerky movements or "tugging" on the rod or reel - usually in a zigzag in a sinking depth of 0.5 to 3 meters.

This special way of guiding the bait gave the bait type its name (engl. "to jerk" = "jerk").

This gives every angler a lot of leeway when it comes to individual running guidance.
